Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong background in inventory accounting and cost analysis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex challenges, particularly around bulk liquid inventory management (think commodities like molasses) and fixed asset tracking. You'll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting operational decisions across the organization.


What You'll Do

Inventory & Cost Accounting

  • Oversee accounting for bulk liquid inventory, including reconciliation of physical counts to system records and variance analysis.
  • Partner with operations and procurement teams to validate commodity costs and allocations.
  • Support monthly inventory close processes and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Fixed Assets & Financial Integrity

  • Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets-additions, disposals, depreciation-and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all transactions meet GAAP standards and internal coding requirements.

Process Improvement & Audit Support

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, particularly around inventory and procurement accounting.
  • Assist with audits and provide ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years in manufacturing or commodity-based accounting, with exposure to cost accounting, inventory management, and fixed asset tracking.
  • Strong ERP experience (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and processes.
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of agricultural or feed manufacturing industries is a plus.
